Jim Harbaugh, Michigan have practice time dedicated to beating Georgia

Head coach Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines have one goal in mind for 2023. Of course, it's the same goal that all college football contenders have, but this seems to be deeply specific for the Wolverines.

According to Brian Fischer of Fox Sports, Harbaugh has scheduled a "beat Georgia" period into Michigan football practices. The Wolverines' major rival, Ohio State, has had its own dedicated period in Michigan's practice schedule, but the Bulldogs have a target on them as the back-to-back national champions.

It's also personal for Harbaugh and the Wolverines considering the fact that Georgia trounced Michigan, 34-11 in, the 2021 College Football Playoff semifinals.

This focus from Michigan seems like a natural progression. After floundering for years under the weight of championship expectations that were never met, Harbaugh finally broke through in his seventh season in Ann Arbor, leading the Wolverines to a Big Ten championship and a spot in the CFP.

Michigan followed 2021 up with a Big Ten title and CFP appearance in 2022, but each of the Wolverines' CFP appearances ended in the semifinals.

Kirby Smart has built a national contender that has even surpassed what Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide, so it makes sense that Harbaugh is "shooting for the stars" regarding his expectations for 2023 and beyond.
