Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh is apparently trying to capitalize on perhaps the biggest name in Michigan history: Schembechler.
It's being reported that Michigan has hired legendary head coach Bo Schembechler's son, Glenn "Shemy" Schembechler, to the recruiting staff.
He will be the new assistant director of football recruiting.
I'm beyond honored to return home to @UMichFootball ! #GoBlue always and forever!

The younger Schembechler was a grad assistant at Michigan in 1993, but made his name as a scout at the NFL level in the mid-90s, working for the likes of the now-Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, and recently, the Las Vegas Raiders.
The older Schembechler coached Michigan from 1969-90. He won 13 Big Ten titles along the way while becoming known for his rallying cry, "Those who stay will be champions!"
One of his quarterbacks in the mid-80s was none other than Harbaugh.
When it comes to Harbaugh, some people love him, some hate him. There was a time where he seemed played out at Michigan and unable to capitalize on both his talent as a head coach and the national attention and expectations for his programs.
Over the past two years, though, he has seemingly proven himself as a coach capable of leading the Wolverines to a national championship. At the very least, we now know he can win the Big Ten and make Michigan a consistent College Football Playoff threat.
But can Harbaugh get the Wolverines over the hump? While that still remains to be seen, he will never be accused of not turning over every rock at his disposal.
