Less than 24 hours after dancing at Travis Hunter’s wedding in Athens, Tennessee, Jimmy Horn Jr. and Xavier Weaver were back on the road, this time in the stands at TDECU Stadium in Houston, Texas. Their mission? To support former Colorado Buffaloes teammate Javon Antonio as he suited up for the DC Defenders in a pivotal Week 9 UFL matchup.
Antonio, who has quietly built a solid season with 16 catches for 190 yards, added two receptions for 22 yards on Sunday. Though the Defenders fell short in a 24-21 loss to the Houston Roughnecks, Antonio’s presence on the field was overshadowed, in the best way possible, by the high-profile sideline crew that came to show love.
NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens, former Colorado Director of Football Sports Performance Maurice “Coach Mo” Sims, Horn, and Weaver stood tall in support of their former wideout brother. Owens let it be known who was there. “The CU Buffs in the building.”

Horn and Weaver, who combined for over 1,400 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in their 2023 campaign under Coach Prime, have remained fixtures in each other’s lives, even beyond Boulder. Their appearance wasn’t just symbolic; it was a testament to the loyalty forming in the Buffaloes’ locker room over the past two years.
The Defenders slipped to 6-3 with the loss but remain a playoff contender. As Antonio looks to close his season strong, he’s doing it with not just fans, but family behind him.
