The Tennessee Volunteers (8-4) and the Illinois Fighting Illini (8-4) were both in the College Football Playoff mix at one point this season, as they each ranked within the top 15 at one point in the year. However, tough finishes to the year left them both playing in Tuesday's Music City Bowl.

Although there were glimmers of hope that the Vols could make a return to the College Football Playoff despite losing Nico Iamaleava, they went 0-4 against their ranked opponents. However, App State/UCLA quarterback transfer Joey Aguilar more than delivered for a program expected to punt on the season.

Aguilar threw for 3,444 yards with 24 touchdowns to 10 interceptions, and completed 66.8% of his passes. His strong performance throughout not only this season, but his career has led to him being viewed as one of the more valuable athletes in college football. According to On3, Aguilar holds the No. 95 NIL Valuation in college football, coming in at $878,000.

A mark that may have grown following his announcement on Monday.

As he shared in an announcement on Instagram, Aguilar shared that he has partnered with Uber Eats for its Uber One for students initiative, allowing students to save on both rides and food delivery.

"You know what’s easier than walking home from practice? Using my Uber One for Students membership, I can save on Uber Rides and Uber Eats," wrote Aguilar.

While Aguilar is listed as a senior, there is a possibility that he can return to college for a sixth season and use his student discount for another year.

The NCAA is currently involved in an ongoing lawsuit that is seeing notable athletes such as Vanderbilt 's Diego Pavia petitioning for athletes who played at the junior college level to earn extra years of eligibility. Since Aguilar started his career at Diablo Valley JC, if the NCAA rules in favor of JUCO athletes, he could return to college football next season.

Until then, he is likely focused on Tuesday's game, which kicks at 5:30 p.m. ET and airs on ESPN.
