The transfer portal drama in college football keeps getting messier, and now Jon Sumrall has entered the chat.

After Steve Sarkisian took a flamethrower to Ole Miss Rebels football over its transfer credit policies — joking that players can basically take “basket weaving” and walk away with a degree — the new Florida coach fired back with a pretty hilarious response.

Sarkisian’s comments came one day after Lane Kiffin defended Ole Miss and the current transfer portal chaos, continuing the growing war of words surrounding how schools handle academics and player movement.

Sumrall clearly wasn’t interested in letting Ole Miss take shots uncontested. Instead of getting overly serious, he turned the whole thing into a recruiting pitch for Florida.

The Gators coach joked that players coming to Gainesville won’t have to worry about finding “basket weaving” classes because Florida actually has “real degrees” waiting on campus, while also taking a playful jab at the SEC’s nonstop academic trash talk.

It was classic SEC offseason chaos: Kiffin stirring the pot, Sark unloading on Ole Miss, and Sumrall swooping in with a one-liner to promote his own program while everyone else argued.

College football coaches are basically subtweeting each other in public now, and honestly, it’s making May a lot more entertaining.
