New Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Julian Lewis took a cheeky dig at Shedeur Sanders, the man he's trying to replace at Boulder this season. The young playmaker is set to start a new chapter in his football journey. He just graduated at 17 before starting his tenure under Deion Sanders.
The four-star quarterback prospect committed to Colorado in November, set to replace Sanders, who joined the NFL after the 2024 season.
As he prepares for college football, Lewis is followed around by cameras. He launched his YouTube channel and dropped the first video three weeks ago. It started with his Colorado debut at a spring game.
The second video followed him during his graduation while showing his accolades and how his family celebrates him.
Lewis had something to say about the new Cleveland Browns quarterback during his vlog. While doing some sort of Q&A in the car, he was asked about his favorite restaurant in Carrollton. "JuJu" responded with Wings Citi, which prompted his cameraman to say he should have gotten catering from that spot.
Lewis joked with the guy while bringing up Sanders' name to the table.
"You got too much things," Lewis said. "You've been rocking with Shedeur too much. I'm just a regular guy."
Lewis, out of Carrollton High School, will battle for the starting role in Colorado with Kaidon Salter. The two quarterbacks have some big shoes to fill, but Deion Sanders is working to put them in a better position than Shedeur Sanders was.
The Browns' rookie led the team to nine wins, but they all came at a cost: 42 sacks in 13 games. This was a serious concern for the Buffaloes, who allowed 52 the prior season.
Lewis seems to be ready to thrive in Colorado, but the fans and coaches might be bracing for an intense QB battle.
