Collin Klein and Kansas State are expected to land Virginia cornerback transfer Ja’Son Prevard, according to Chris Hummer of CBS Sports.
It’s the 15th three-star name transferring into Manhattan this offseason, and the ninth defender picked up by the Wildcats in this latest cycle. Prevard, an All-ACC Honorable Mention, entered the transfer portal in December with one year of eligibility remaining.

Prevard, originally from New Jersey, transferred to Virginia from Morgan State for his junior season. The 6-foot-2, 199-pound defender finished the season with 24 total tackles (11 solo), three interceptions and five passes defended.
Kansas State now has two linebacker transfers, the other being Mekhi Mason of Louisiana Tech, on board for Jordan Peterson‘s first-year defense at Kansas State. Peterson followed Klein north from Texas A&M to replace Joe Klanderman as the program’s next DC.
The Wildcats lose their leading tackler, Desmond Purnell, to graduation, and their top returning linebacker, Austin Romaine, committed to Texas Tech last Sunday. Romaine tallied 66 tackles (41 solo), two passes defended, and one interception as a junior.
