The 2026 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and we've got you covered with in-depth scouting reports for all of this year's top prospects.
Auburn's Keldric Faulk is one of the top edge defenders in this year's class, with a rare combination of size and athleticism, along with the versatility to line up all over the defensive front. Those traits give him tons of upside at the next level, and should make him a lock to come off the board at some point in the first round.
Here's everything NFL fans need to know about Faulk heading into this year's draft:
Height: 6-6
Weight: 285
Age: 20
You won’t find many edge players with this kind of size, athleticism and versatility. Faulk’s massive frame and ridiculous wingspan make him a three-down weapon on the edge, with the ability to keep opposing blockers away from his frame and disengage to make tackles. He has the strength to set the edge in the ground game, and isn’t easily pushed out of the play. As a pass rusher, Faulk explodes off the ball and leaves tackles grasping at air, and he knows how to convert that speed to power for effective bull rushes. His physical tools and rare skill set give Faulk the ability to line up all over the defensive front, overwhelming interior blockers with his explosiveness and athleticism, and doing the same on the edge with his length and strength. He shows polished technique against both the run and pass, uses his length to knock down passes at the line of scrimmage, and plays with relentless effort on every snap.
For all of Faulk’s physical gifts, they’ve yet to translate to consistent production, as he managed just two sacks last season after posting seven the year before. He can be a dominant force in the trenches, but if asked to drop into coverage or play in space, Faulk can struggle to match shiftier running backs in the open field. If he wants to take the next step as a pass rusher, developing more effective counter moves to go to when his initial plan doesn’t work could be the key.
Faulk’s lack of production might be concerning to some NFL teams, but his rare physical traits and alignment versatility will still be too much for the majority of them to pass up. Edge defenders with this kind of athletic profile just don’t stay on the board very long, and it won’t be surprising if Faulk continues that trend as a top-10 pick. He’ll put up bigger numbers in the NFL than he did in college.
