Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier has done a really good job bringing in high-end recruits all over the field. One position where Napier has seen a lot of success has been at cornerback, with multiple top recruits seriously considering the Gators.
Two of the top prospects at the position reside in the state of Florida. C.J. Hester from Cocoa has the Gators at the top of his list, and the Gators will be hearing from another on July 6th, when four-star cornerback Chauncey Kennon will be making his commitment.

Kennon has been a big riser on the recruiting trail over the last few weeks. He's risen all the way up to being the 46th-ranked prospect and both the fifth-best cornerback and overall recruit in the state of Florida.
The Sarasota product has a lot of the big guns after him, including multiple rivals of the Gators. The biggest threats right now appear to be their in-state rivals Miami and Florida State. The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Gators in first place with a 27.2% prediction, ahead of both Miami (23.8%) and Florida State (20.4%).
Each of the three Florida schools will have hosted Kennon four times by the time he commits. The Hurricanes will host Kennon on Friday, May 30th with the Seminoles following two weeks later on June 13th.
Kennon took his official to visit on May 16th, which came just four weeks after an unofficial visit on April 18th. He's no stranger to Gainesville either, with his first two unofficial fivsits coming last year on the Gators' campus.
Being able to lock down Kennon would be huge for Napier, who has already lost two defensive backs so far this cycle after they decommitted after Will Harris left for Miami. Securing both Kennon and Hester would elevate the Gators' 2026 class tenfold.
