No venue in college football is as immediately identifiable as Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho. You may not know it by name – it spent 44 years as Bronco Stadium before taking on the sponsorship of a grocery-store chain in 2014 – but there’s no mistaking the blue field where Boise State plays its home games. With Fresno State in town for the Mountain West Championship, we’re backing a player on the home side to deliver our top prop:
The bet: Over 38½ rushing yards for Boise State quarterback Taylen Green (DraftKings)
Expected to spend this season as a backup to senior Hank Bachmeier, Green made a relief appearance in a loss to Oregon State and rushed for 102 yards. Four weeks later, the redshirt freshman eclipsed the century mark again in his first start, helping the Broncos beat San Diego State.
Green now faces a Fresno State defense that has struggled to contain mobile quarterbacks over the back half of the season. In fact, five straight opposing signal-callers exceeded this number, ranging from the 39 yards of New Mexico’s Justin Holaday to the 60 yards of UNLV’s Doug Brumfield.
In last week’s win over Utah State, Green electrified the home crowd with a 91-yard sprint for a touchdown. Playing on the “Smurf Turf” for his last time of 2022, he should turn in a few more highlight runs.
