Kirby Smart and Georgia add to elite class with flip from Penn State

One has to wonder how long the Penn State Nittany Lions can go without putting together a plan at head coach, because their 2026 recruiting class is being absolutely pillaged as their future looks uncertain.

Penn State suffered yet another decommitment over the weekend, with this one being a big-time flip in favor of Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Elijah Littlejohn is a 4-star linebacker from Charlotte, North Carolina. He had been committed to Penn State since June, but the Bulldogs never really left the radar for him.

Penn State fired James Franklin in October, and from there, Littlejohn decided that he should start looking around. The Bulldogs reached back out to see where things stood, and now he's flipped his commitment from PSU to UGA.

“Georgia has always been pushing hard for me since the beginning of my junior year,” Littlejohn told Rivals. “It has always been a top school, but once I really started thinking about Georgia was when Coach Franklin got fired from Penn State. Georgia coaches reached out to me and it took off from there.”

Georgia played host to Littlejohn last month as he took in Georgia's win over Ole Miss in Athens. He came back for an official visit this past weekend, and that was enough to seal the deal.

“I didn’t know before the official visit that I was going to commit to Georgia. The official visit was very good for me. I learned a lot about the program, the plan the coach got in place to use me, and I can see myself doing good in the defense," Littlejohn said.

Kirby Smart and Georgia Bulldogs building another elite recruiting class

Littlejohn is a big-time commitment for the Bulldogs. According to  247Sports, he's ranked as the No. 20 linebacker in the 2026 class.

He's Smart's 31st 2026 commitment in a class that is loaded with elite talent. Georgia's class is ranked No. 3 in the country, and it very well could finish No. 1 overall when all is said and done.

“What makes Georgia different is really just the way they can develop," Littlejohn said.

He's clearly far from the only recruit who thinks just that.
