Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are not letting up on the recruiting trail. They're on pace once again to have a top five recruiting class–if not the best in the nation–and if reports this week are true they're closing in on yet another special recruit who could potentially give them the best offensive line class in the nation for the 2026 cycle.

Ekene Ogboko, Four Star OT Recruit

Ekene Ogboko is a four star offensive tackle recruit with incredible size, length, and mobility from the state of North Carolina. He's been courted by virtually every major college football power in the country, but he's narrowed his search down to just a handful of schools as of this writing.

Ogboko is a two-way dominant force who destroys opponents as both a defensive and offensive lineman. He racked up over 60 tackles and a half dozen sacks last fall on defense, but given his 6'6", 280+ pound frame with room to fill out as a rising senior in high school he's likely to play offensive tackle full time at the college level.

And now, according to Steve Wiltfong (among other experts late this week) it looks like Ogboko may be trending towards landing with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Ogboko just visited with the Bulldogs last week and it apparently went well, but he still plans to visit Notre Dame on the weekend of June 20th. However, there's real fuel to the Georgia-lean fire with Ogboko. His brother Nnamdi is already on the Georgia Bulldogs team as a defensive lineman and he's taken more visits with Georgia than any other school in the nation. Plus, there could be significant opportunity to play early at Georgia.

Georgia's offensive line will be almost entirely new starters this year since the team just sent four of their most experienced offensive lineman on to the NFL this spring. Tate Ratledge in round two to the Lions. Dylan Fairchild in round three to the Bengals. Jared Wilson in round three to the Patriots. Xavier Truss signed one of the most lucrative UDFA contracts for nearly $3 million dollars and three years with the Broncos.

It's clear the Bulldogs are going to need some new faces to step up along the offensive line this year. Should any of them falter this season some new young players (like Ogboko) could be in line to step in for 2026 and beyond. If Ogboko joins Georgia he'll be the fourth offensive line recruit Kirby Smart and his staff have brought in for 2026 already, potentially giving them the best, deepest offensive line group of recruits in the country. Let's just hope Kirby Smart can close this here soon.
