Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs took a big swing at four-star offensive tackle Malakai Lee, but ended up striking out.
According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, Lee chose the Michigan Wolverines over Georgia, Texas, and Alabama.
"BREAKING: Four-Star OT Malakai Lee has Committed to Michigan, he tells me for @on3recruits. The 6’7 320 OT from Kaneohe, HI chose the Wolverines over Georgia, Texas, & Alabama," Fawcett announced on X/Twitter.
“Thank you, God, for helping me through this process. GO BLUE!!" Lee said shortly after making his decision.

The 6-foot-7 and 230-pound offensive tackle from Kaneohe, Hawaii, ranks as the No. 137 overall player from the class of 2026 and No. 10 tackle in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite.
While Smart missed out on that big-time recruit, the Dawgs did land four-star cornerback Chace Calicut to make up for it on the same day.
Calicut, from Houston, Texas, is ranked No. 162 nationally, No. 13 among all safeties, and No. 23 in his home state.
Georgia currently boasts the nation’s No. 6 recruiting class and has 22 players committed to their recruiting class of 2026:
