Lane Kiffin, head coach of Ole Miss football, took a playful jab at the Miami Hurricanes' decision to sign Carson Beck. The ex-Georgia quarterback got a $4.3 million deal from the Hurricanes after he committed back in January.
"Miami gave him $4.3M? Did they watch his game against us?" Kiffin questioned, coming on to "The Pivot" on April 18, talking about Georgia’s 28-10 stumble against Ole Miss last season, where Beck looked anything but a multimillion-dollar prospect.
He registered 20 completions on 31 attempts for 186 yards with zero touchdowns and a pick. Beck coughed up the ball twice, including a fumble that handed possession straight to the Rebels.
Miami’s move to snag Beck makes sense on paper. With Cam Ward heading for the NFL, the Hurricanes need a QB1, and Beck, despite that shaky Ole Miss outing, has shown flashes of high-ceiling play.

Beck led Georgia to the Sugar Bowl last season, with 3485 yards on 448 attempts with an accuracy of 64.7%, finding the endzone 28 times. Kiffin’s dig, though, cuts deeper than just stats. It’s a not-so-subtle roast of the NIL era, especially after the recent fiasco about the Nico-Tennessee situation.
