Ole Miss is pulling out all the stops to keep one of Mississippi's premier talents right at home, as head coach Lane Kiffin makes a direct appeal.
Caden Moss, a standout four-star offensive tackle from in-state Jackson Academy, recently visited campus, and his presence was a significant one.
At an impressive 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, Moss is not just the top recruit in Mississippi for the 2027 class, but he also ranks as the 28th overall prospect and the fifth-best offensive tackle in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
During his visit to Oxford, Moss had the opportunity to connect with the Rebels’ coaching staff, spending quality time with offensive line coach John Garrison and analyst Chris James.
It was a meaningful interaction that left a lasting impression on him.
“Camp was great. Coach Garrison and Coach James are great individuals who love football,” Moss told On3 on Tuesday. “They treat me as a top priority and are very excited about my development as a player."
However, it was his conversation with Lane Kiffin that may hold the most weight.
“He said if I stayed in the SIP I’ll still have the same opportunity as out of state schools,” Moss recounted. “You can stay home, win and be able to get drafted. He also talked about the environment outside of football."
That key message—remaining in Mississippi, winning at home, and pursuing an NFL career—is central to Kiffin's strategy as the Rebels aim to keep top-tier homegrown talent from looking elsewhere.
As Moss's profile continues to rise both nationally and locally, the Rebels are making a strong effort to ensure he knows just how much he is valued, and how he fits into their scheme.
Time will tell if Moss is the next great one to suit up at Vaught Hemingway Stadium.
