Latest announcement from LSU Tigers offers a potentially excellent path to 2025 College Football Playoff

"Proverbs 30:5 says that every word of God is flawless and he is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. He has blessed me with an amazing family, circle of support, and the ability to allow me to live out my dream. The fact that I am even in a position make this type of announcement is truly a testament to His true Glory and Love. Philippians 4:13 says that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. When you mind, body, and soul into Him the sky's the limit for anyone. No dream is impossible with Him on your side. Proverbs 16:9 says that the heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Since a young kid all I have ever wanted was to grow up and play in the NFL. God brought me to LSU for a reason. I had to observe and trust in His timing and His plan for me time and time again. I stayed at LSU because of that reason. And again, I feel like my time at LSU is not over. I am officially announcing that I am returning for my final year of eligibility and I am fully committed to bringing this university a championship. My teammates, coaches, and the fans will get the absolute best out of me every single day until we complete that goal. Geaux Tigers."

LSU Tigers fans still await updates from other key playmakers on both sides of the ball, not just Garrett Nussmeier. But this one is huge. Returning the Tigers growing quarterback entering his second full season as a starter will give the program a leg up against most every other SEC program.

Based on accepted all star game invites (to Senior Bowl and Shrine Bowl) so far the defense will be rebuilding once again as EDGE Bradyn Swinson, corner back Zy Alexander, and EDGE/DL Sai'Vion Jones among others will be headed to the NFL. The offensive line will be replacing both guards and potentially both tackle spots too, so there are lots of question marks. However, bringing back the quarterback is a foundational step towards making the 2025 College Football Playoff for Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers of next season.
