Georgia Bulldogs' top wide receiver Colbie Young could be returning to the team in time for the 2025 season after all.

According to Athens Banner-Herald's Marc Weiszer, Young reached a plea deal for his battery case with the Solicitor's Office in Athens-Clarke County on Wednesday.

"Young plead no contest to disorderly conduct, Young’s attorney Kim Stephens told the Athens Banner-Herald," writes Weiszer. "A misdemeanor charge of simple battery was amended to the disorderly conduct and a charge of misdemeanor assault on an unborn child were dismissed, Stephens said."

Young received 12 months of probation, a $500 fine, and he must complete a family violence intervention program. However, an key note is that when the program is over in 24 weeks, the probation will terminate.

Young was arrested Oct. 8 on battery and assault charges after his ex-girlfriend called the cops when the two got into a heated argument. About one month later, the alleged victim called the police report from that night "slanted" and asked that any statements attributed to her saying Young attempted to cause injury to her be "retracted.”

Following the initial arrest, Young was suspended "indefinitely" from the team until his case was resolved but was cleared by the University and returned to practice at the end of November.

Young, a senior transfer from Miami, played in just five games for Georgia this season but made a large impact while logging 11 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.

His expected return to the team would be massive as the Bulldogs shift their focus to a new starting quarterback.
