The Gators have one of the more interesting rosters going into the 2025 season. Of all the teams in the nation, the Gators are one of the only teams who could realistically have a top 10 offensive line and defensive line. Both units are excellent and filled with talent, and winning in the trenches is really important.
That is going to be the biggest factor in the elevation of Lagway. After his injured hamstring, he had to stop his mobility for the rest of the season to let the injury fully heal. Because of that, Lagway elevated his pocket presence to a massive degree.
The other aspects of winning the Heisman Trophy are simple:
The second one of those isn't a necessity, but it's something that makes it easier. Putting up big numbers is something that will always be a thing. Lagway is lucky enough to have both in his pocket going into the year.
The weapons that Lagway has surrounding him is a huge one. Eugene Wilson, Jadan Baugh, and J. Michael Sturdivant all project to be huge assets for the Gators going into the year. Plus, Dallas Wilson had a massive spring game which could vault him to the next level.
Keep an eye on Lagway this year.
