The Florida Gators have been in limbo when it comes to quarterback DJ Lagway's health.
It was a rude awakening for many, as there wasn't much about a shoulder injury going into the offseason. We knew that he suffered a hamstring injury against the Georgia Bulldogs that turned him into a pocket passer for the rest of the season. That experience was such a huge factor in his development over the course of the latter half of the 2024 season.
What his status would be going into the 2025 season was in question. There were reports that he already started throwing after not doing so during spring practice, and we are learning more about his status.
A person close to Lagway said that he will have his full arsenal, something he apparently didn't have last season.
Of DJ Lagway, a person close to him says this of the Gators QB: "He’s healthy now; he’s going to have his full arsenal. People have not seen his full arsenal."

It's great to see that the Gators will have a healthy Lagway going into the season, but it's the second part of that report from On3 Sports' Keith Niebuhr that's the most interesting.
When Lagway was coming out of high school, the draw was how he paired elite level arm talent with the size and athletic profiles he brought to the table. He's a dual-threat quarterback in the same vein as a player like Daunte Culpepper was during his time in the National Football League: cannon arm with real rushing ability.
Lagway not being able to use that ability makes sense with the aforementioned hamstring injury that he had to deal with. Before the injury, we got a glimpse of it, especially against Tennessee.

The more we hear about Lagway's health, the better things are from a long-term perspective. It's also great from a short-term perspective, as he could lead the Gators to a playoff berth in 2025.
