Lee Corso 'doing much better' after missing 'College GameDay'

The college football and sports communities were understandably concerned when beloved ESPN personality Lee Corso missed the most recent edition of the popular "College GameDay" program because he "woke up feeling under the weather" ahead of the broadcast.

Fortunately, Corso delivered a patented "not so fast, my friend" to whatever was ailing him.

Erik Hall of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch noted that ESPN's Rece Davis offered a positive update on Corso during an edition of "The Paul Finebaum Show"

"He's doing much better, Paul," Davis said of Corso. "I talked to him on Sunday. He's back home in Orlando and feeling much, much better. He just woke up Saturday morning, had a little dizziness and so forth. They checked him out, and he was feeling better by Saturday afternoon. He was really ready to go home quicker than they let him. But the great doctors at Clemson there took care of him, looked after him, and now, he's back in Orlando."

The 87-year-old is expected to return to work for Saturday's "GameDay" show in Lawrence, Kansas, that will precede the contest between the TCU Horned Frogs and Kansas Jayhawks.

"While I was talking to our producer Jim Gaiero the other day — yesterday, I guess — LC was calling him and wanting to know what topics were in the show that he needed to prepare for," Davis added during his comments. "So he's feeling much better."

It seems Corso could be back to his old self as soon as the second Saturday of October.
