Texas Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger has been raising funds through a GoFundMe account to help the fight against COVID-19.
On Sunday, he made an announcement on Twitter, thanking “everyone who generously donated to my COVID-19 fundraising effort.”
Through his GoFundMe account and private donations, Ehlinger raised “approximately $200,000” and will be able to provide over 150,000 meals while helping “many other people/organizations.”
Thank you to everyone who generously donated to my COVID-19 fundraising effort.

You all raised approximately $200,000 through @gofundme and private donations.
Your generosity provided over 150,000 meals and helped many other people/organizations.
God Bless
Ehlinger started the GoFundMe account in late March as the COVID-19 pandemic began to significantly affect the United States. His goal at the time was to raise $1 million.
Please share with friends and family and let’s raise $1,000,000 for COVID-19 Relief. Shoutout @Trevorlawrencee and his girlfriend, Marissa, for setting a great example with their fundraising platform. Link to donate and share is in my bio and attached below. pic.twitter.com/lEN3FSkQXi

While he did not ultimately meet that lofty goal, nobody can say Ehlinger did anything other than make a massive positive difference in his community.
