AUSTIN – After two blue-chip commitments over the weekend, the Texas Longhorns now hold the No. 10-ranked recruiting class for the class of 2026, aiming for yet another No. 1 class. Last year, head coach Steve Sarkisian put together a No. 1-ranked recruiting class headlined with five 5-stars and the No. 1-ranked safety among the 25 commits in the class.

Dia Bell highlights the class

Fast forward to 2025, and the Longhorns are now concluding the summer recruiting period with 15 commits, two 5-stars, and the No. 2 quarterback, Dia Bell, highlighting the class.

Bell has been recruited out of American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He stands at 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, allowing his size to transfer over well mechanically in college. He recently participated in the Elite 11 tournament for the nation’s top 20 quarterbacks and won MVP, making him the first-ever Texas quarterback commit to win the award.

Last season before suffering a season-ending leg injury, Bell completed 70.6% of his passes, acquiring 2,597 yards, 29 touchdowns, and just six interceptions while also rushing for 561 yards and five touchdowns. His injury came after he led his team to a 9-2 record, earning his team a spot in the regional semifinals and also earning himself the title of Gatorade Player of the Year in Florida.

Richard Wesley

Across the coast in Los Angeles, Texas found Richard Wesley. Wesley is a 5-star and the No. 4 defensive end in the class, and a top 25 player overall. Wesley was originally a member of the 2027 class, where he was previously ranked as a top-5 prospect overall before he reclassified to the 2026 class. Last season he earned MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honors after totaling 44 tackles, 16 for a loss, nine sacks, and forcing three fumbles.

Jermaine Bishop Jr.

As he makes the journey from California to Texas, Wesley will meet Jermaine Bishop Jr., an in-state athlete who played both sides of the ball in high school. Bishop has been committed to Texas since May after being recruited to play cornerback for the Longhorns. He is also the third-highest ranked player in Texas’ 2026 class.

Bishop stands at 6 feet tall while 170 pounds, ranking as the country’s No. 5 athlete, No. 10 player out of Texas, and No. 75 player nationally. On the offensive side of the ball, he brought in 83 receptions, totaling 1,565 yards and scoring 18 touchdowns. He also recorded six rushes for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, he managed to acquire 26 tackles, three interceptions, forced two fumbles, and broke up six passes. On special teams, he also brought back a kickoff for a touchdown. Drawing comparisons to cornerback Kamari Lassiter and wide receiver Jordan Addison, Bishop received a lot of attention and eventually picked the Horns over Texas A&M, Florida, and USC.

Bishop, along with Bell and Wesley, helps make up the 60% of the 15 in class for the Longhorns that are blue-chip prospects, helping bump Texas towards the top of the rankings.

Six more 4-stars, along with six other 3-stars, complete the No. 10 ranked class:

  • 4-Star No. 11 DL Vodney Cleveland
  • 4-Star No. 19 DL Dylan Berymon
  • 4-Star No. 40 WR Chris Stewart
  • 4-Star No. 28 DL Corey Wells
  • 4-Star No. 24 OT Max Wright
  • 4-Star No. 36 CB Hayward Howard Jr.
  • 3-Star No. 36 IOL Nicolas Robertson
  • 3-Star No. 75 WR Kohen Brown
  • 3-Star No. 68 S Yaheim Riley
  • 3-Star No. 2 P Mikey Bukauskas
  • 3-Star No. 4 K Jake Collett
  • 3-Star No. 4 LS Trott O’Neal
