Look: CBS Sports Picks Cincinnati Bearcats Football Team to finish 4-8 in 2025 Season

The Bearcats football team has a 6.5-game win total on sportsbooks as the 2025 college football offseason rolls on. A number that CBS Sports's Shehan Jeyarajah doesn't think they'll come close to hitting.

He has Cincinnati finishing 4-8 in Scott Satterfield's third season due to a rough opening portion of the schedule.

"The Bearcats improved from three to five wins last season but lost their final five games to miss a bowl game," Jeyarajah wrote. "The early schedule does them no favors as Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa State are all potential losses in the first five games. Quarterback Brendan Sorsby inspires some optimism, but the Bearcats must improve on defense to have any chance of even replicating last season's win total."

The defense is better than the offense as of this writing, with Bill Connelly's SP+ slotting in with the 76th-best offense and 44th-best defense nationally.

Add in the strong amount of returning production coming back from both sides of the ball and a completely re-juiced wide receiver corps, and you get a head-scratching path to 4-8 overall. That would be the worst-case scenario finish for Cincinnati unless multiple key players got hurt early in the season.
