As WVU continues to add depth to its defensive secondary, one previously committed transfer has now changed his mind about becoming a Mountaineer.

Louisville transfer defensive back Josh Minkins Jr. posted his change of plans on X (Twitter) on Friday. “I will not be attending West Virginia. Please respect my decision,” said Minkins.

He initially committed to WVU a month ago, picking West Virginia over offers from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Tulsa.

Minkins was an impact player for Louisville in the ACC in 2023. He recorded 55 total tackles, three pass breakups, one sack, one interception, and a forced fumble. This was despite missing time with an injury. He has one year left of eligibility.

You can find Richardson and other transfer players listed on our partner the Portal Report’s database.
