USA TODAY Sports

The midseason All-America honors continues to roll in for two of the Louisville football program's two best players.

The Athletic announced their midseason All-America picks on Wednesday, with Cardinals defensive end Ashton Gillotte and running back Jawhar Jordan both making the cut. Gillotte was named to the Second-Team Defense, while Jordan was tabbed to the Second-Team Offense.

This marks the fourth midseason All-America honor for Gillotte thus far, also being named a First-Team selection by CBS Sports, Second-Team by College Football Network and Third-Team by Pro Football Focus. It's the second for Jordan, who was tabbed as a First-Team pick by College Football Network.

Gillotte has had an incredible first half to his junior campaign. In seven games, the 6-foot-3 and 270-pound edge rusher has collected 8.0 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and 24 tackles overall. He leads the Cardinals in all but the latter category.

The Boca Raton, Fla. native's sack count is tied for seventh in the FBS and fourth in the Power Five, while his tackle for loss total is good for 28th nationally and 16th in the Power Five. Additionally, according to Pro Football Focus, his 33 quarterback pressures are good for fourth in the FBS, and second only to Alabama's Dallas Turner in the Power Five.

Jordan has had just as impressive of season up to this point as well. The 5-foot-10 and 185-pound all-purpose back has collected 661 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns on 89 attempts, while also catching 10 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown.

The Long Island, N.Y. native's rushing total is good for 14th nationally, his rushing scores come in at a tie for 10th in the FBS, while his 7.43 yards per carry average places 11th. His 835 yards from scrimmage also ranks No. 11 in the nation.

No. 21 Louisville (6-1, 3-1 ACC) heads into their bye week, and will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 28 when they host No. 16 Duke. Kickoff time and television designation for the matchup will be announced this weekend.
