Coach Brian Kelly, defensive line coach Bo Davis and the Tigers are tasked with something very important over the next few cycles. After bringing in just four defensive line recruits over the last two classes combined, LSU football recruiting is looking to make a strong push at a big-time defensive lineman or two in the class of 2025 and 2026. In turn, this is why it’s so encouraging that the purple and gold have recently emerged as a favorite for Louisiana-based Corey Adams.

LSU football recruiting emerging as the favorite for talented Louisiana-based defensive lineman Corey Adams

If you aren’t placing an emphasis on recruiting the state of Louisiana as the head coach of LSU, you’re more than likely going to miss out on some serious talent if you aren’t careful.

Year in and year out, the state produces some of the most impressive hidden gems in the country. One of the more notable example is none other than wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who went from being a two-star recruit out of high school to one of the best pass catchers in the entire NFL.

While primarily having spent his career throughout the Midwest, it appears as though coach Brian Kelly was more than aware of this coming in. Since arriving in Baton Rouge, he’s placed a significant emphasis on in-state recruiting, bringing in dozens if Louisiana-based prospects in just three cycles.

Now, he’s shifted his focus to the class of 2025 and 2026, and it doesn’t appear that this strategy is going to slow down anytime soon. Most recently, LSU football recruiting began to emerge as the top contender for defensive lineman Corey Adams after receiving multiple On3 predictions from Billy Embody and Shea Dixon.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, Adams has the kind of body that towers over his opponents, and it shows in the way he plays. Not only is he bigger than everyone else, but during his time with Edna Karr out of New Orleans, LA, the talented defensive lineman has shown more than enough burst to get around opposing offensive linemen.

While not as highly rated as some of the other LSU football recruiting targets – rated as a three-star – Adams is quickly rising as a highly sought-after recruit in the class of 2025 cycle. Among his 15+ offers includes Oregon, TCU, UCF and USC, all of which have extended their offer since the start of February.

With a 99.6 percent chance at landing the three-star defensive lineman, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, this could be a recruitment to keep a close eye on as we continue through spring football.
