LSU loses commitment of four-star WR

The LSU Tigers have lost a big commitment to their 2024 class.

Joseph Stone Jr., four-star wide receiver from Fairburn, Georgia, announced his decommitment from the Tigers on Tuesday.

"I would like to thank the entire staff for taking the time to get to know me as a player and as a person. Being committed to LSU has been nothing but the greatest," Stone told On3 in a statement. "I am fortunate to be a part of something that will always be unique. Thank you to the LSU fan base for your unwavering support. It has been incredibly difficult to decide, but I am confident that God is perfect and makes no mistakes. With that being said I will be decommitting from LSU and reopening my recruitment!"

With more than 25 offers to his name, it still remains to be seen which direction Stone will end up going. It's worth noting that he has taken official visits to Louisville and UCF. He's also taken unofficial visits to Georgia, Georgia Tech and Clemson. In fact, he visited Athens twice to check out the Bulldogs, so it will be interesting to see if Kirby Smart and Co. now get involved in his recruitment. They did offer him back in April in 2021.

At 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, Stone is ranked as the No. 45 wideout in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports.

Other notable offers include Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas and Tennessee, among others.
