With the new college football season starting up soon, there is a lot of excitement in the country. Fans, players, and media alike are gearing up for the new year, with the season not too far off.
Everyone is looking for the next sleeper team or a program that could make a lot of noise this year. And one team that has been a trendy pick is the LSU Tigers.
Following another dissapointing year, the Tigers are ready to show out this season. LSU brings back starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier for his second run as the leading man for the team.
But heading into the year, Nussmeier has now been given a wild prediction from a teammate. LSU linebacker Whit Weeks is predicting that Nussmeier will win the Heisman this season.
“I think he (Garrett Nussmeier) is gonna win the Heisman this year.”

Nussmeier had a good first season starting for the Tigers, and he was under a lot of pressure to follow up the performance of Jayden Daniels. The signal-caller threw for 4052 yards with 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over 13 games played.
The biggest issue with Nussmeier last season was his turnover issue. If he can clean things up this year, the Tigers could have something special happen on the field.
Tigers head coach Brian Kelly helped Daniels win the Heisman a few years ago, and he will now look to do the same with Nussmeier. Nobody believed Daniels was a true Heisman contender, giving some thought to the idea of Nussmeier contending for the honor.
LSU does have. atough schedule this season, which could also make or break the candidacy of Nussmeier in the Heisman race. But if he is able to put up good numbers, while winning games, it's possible for him to win the award.
