LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has decided to stay with the Tigers, foregoing the option to enter the NCAA transfer portal. With that decision comes a new NIL partnership with Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys.

Gordon McKernan announced the partnership on Twitter on Tuesday.

“The G Team is growing with greatness. We are excited to welcome Tigers’ QB and Lake Charles native Garrett Nussmeier to the #GetGordon team of athletes!” Gordon McKernan wrote on Twitter.

Nussmeier isn’t a starter yet, but he showed LSU fans his potential during the December SEC Championship game.

“He did some really good things. He’s called upon to come in and be aggressive, which he was,” head football coach Brian Kelly said after the conference championship. “For a guy that’s coming in off not playing a lot of football, really pleased.”

Nussmeier also achieved a record-breaking 298 passing yards in the second half of the game against Georgia — the most passing yards during the second half in LSU history.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels will also be staying with the Tigers, meaning Nussmeier likely won’t be starting in 2023 either. However, with his decision to stay in Baton Rouge, all signs point to Nussmeier taking over in 2024.
