There are a lot of high expectations for the LSU Tigers entering the 2025 season, with Steve Lassan of Athlon Sports even putting them at No. 8 when ranking the top 136 teams in college football

Much of that, though, lies on the shoulders of quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who, despite being able to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, chose to return for his final year of eligibility.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Nussmeier would be one of the athletes featured on the Deluxe Edition of EA Sports College Football 26, which is scheduled to be released on July 10.

The exciting achievement even drew a reaction from the quarterback himself, who said, "God is Good! Can't wait to jump on the sticks! Cover szn!" via a social media post.

Of course, it's been a long journey for him, as 2024 was Nussmeier's first year as LSU's full-time starter, despite being a member of the team's 2021 recruiting class.

He came out and immediately proved to be a great option, appearing in 13 games, completing 337-of-525 passes for 4,052 yards, 29 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a 142.7 passing efficiency rating.

However, even after putting up solid numbers, there are a lot of expectations for him to make a huge jump, as ESPN BET even ties him for the second-best odds (+900) to win the Heisman Trophy.

He can do that and help LSU make a deep playoff run, then there's no doubt Nussmier would fly up big boards for the 2026 NFL Draft, as Pro Football Focus already has him as the No. 4 quarterback and the No. 18 prospect.
