The LSU Tigers had a very fun season in 2023. They got to watch an electric season from quarterback Jayden Daniels. However, they were not in the conversation for the SEC championship and the Tigers would like to get back to dominating the conference. The program took a big blow when former five-star cornerback Denver Harris announced he was entering the transfer portal.

LSU Tigers Lose CB Denver Harris To The Transfer Portal

Harris originally committed to Texas A&M out of high school but came to LSU via the transfer portal last season. Fans were excited to see the former top prospect play but he didn’t see the field a lot. He appeared in the first five games and started the first three. After that, he was sidelined for the rest of the year for unknown reasons. While we don’t know for sure, we do know that he did face disciplinary issues while with the Aggies. Any time a player sits but is not injured, it is most likely something to do with personal conduct.

2024 Outlook

LSU has one of the toughest schedules in 2024. It begins with a neutral site game against the USC Trojans. The much-improved UCLA Bruins are also in the non-conference schedule. Once SEC play starts, games against Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida, and Oklahoma are waiting. The only good news for the Tigers is of those four games, only the matchup against the Gators is on the road. The other silver lining for the program is that if they can get through that gauntlet or even only lose one game, they will likely be a shoo-in for the College Football Playoff.

Can the LSU Tigers bounce back in 2024? There are still some questions but head coach Brian Kelly has proven he can put a winning team on the field.
