Why Maryland Will Win

The Florida Atlantic defense doesn't have a ton of experience in the linebacking corps, and the pass rush wasn't good enough. That will all be a work in progress against a Maryland offensive line with the experience to be a positive early on.

On the other side, the Owls are patching things together up front. It allowed close to three sacks and seven tackles for loss per game. There won't be any ground game for the Terps to worry about.

Maryland is about as good as it gets out of the gate. The only season-opening loss since 2009 was in the Big Ten-only 2020 season.
