Matthew McConaughey isn't on the Texas sideline for Wednesday's Peach Bowl.
A mainstay at DKR Memorial Stadium, the actor watched his beloved Longhorns advance to the College Football Playoff's second round with a 38-24 victory over Clemson. McConaughey pumped up a raucous crowd ahead of the win.
However, McConaughey couldn't make the trip to Atlanta for Wednesday's quarterfinal matchup against Arizona State. Minutes after kickoff, he posted a video from a beach outside the United States.
McConaughey walked across the sand wearing a cowboy hat, jeans and the same orange jacket he typically wears to Longhorns games.
"On our way to Mercedes-Benz [Stadium]. I don't know if we can make it on time. We got a lot of customs to get through," McConaughey said. "But as you can see, we're suited for game time. Hook 'em. Go get a win. See you next week."

The University of Texas graduate remains a vocal supporter of his alma mater's football program. He traveled to Atlanta last month to see the Longhorns lose to Georgia in the SEC Championship Game.
Whether he's superstitious or simply had other scheduling obligations, McConaughey isn't back at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on New Year's Day. His message suggests that the "Interstellar" star could go to Arlington next week after Texas advanced to the Cotton Bowl.
The Longhorns are doing more than all right in McConaughey's absence. They jumped to a 14-3 lead despite their offense running just two plays. They ended up winning the game, 39-31 in overtime.
On their opening drive, Quinn Ewers threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to DeAndre Moore Jr. right after a 54-yard reception from Matthew Golden. Silas Bolden then returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown.
While he's missing the Peach Bowl, McConaughey may want to make his way back to Atlanta if Texas plays in the National Championship Game on Jan. 20.
