‘Maybe I can add or be the next dude to join their class’ - Key Notre Dame target isn’t shy about his interest in the Fighting Irish program

If you are a Notre Dame fan, and you follow recruiting closely, it’s hard not to be excited about what head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish staff are doing right now. That’s includes gaining a commitment from 2027 Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb quarterback Teddy Jarrard over Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State.

With Notre Dame getting a commitment from an elite signal caller so early in the class, they can potentially have a ripple effect and create a ton of recruiting momentum. One player to watch closely is 2027 Raleigh (N.C.) Rolesville running back Amir Brown, who is one of the more natural runners in the country. Brown already had a high opinion of the Irish, and the Jarrard commitment should only continue to improve that.

In an interview that Brown did recently with Kyle Kelly of Irish Illustrated, he spoke glowingly of Notre Dame.

“I like everything about Notre Dame,” Brown told Kelly. “The culture, coaches, education and campus are very different. It stands out from others. I love that they’re building their 2027 class. Maybe I can add or be the next dude to join their class.”

With the success we have already seen from running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider on the recruiting trail, it’s hard to not feel great about their chances with a player like Brown. Javian Osborne and Jonaz Walton is an unbelievable haul in 2026, and 2027 looks to continue that momentum.

Brown is considered a four-star player by each of the major recruiting platforms, the lone outlier being 247Sports who has him as a three-star. The Rivals Industry ranking pegs Brown as the No. 264 overall player, No. 20 running back, and No. 9 player in the state of North Carolina in the 2027 recruiting class. The Fighting Irish have also had a lot of success in the state of North Carolina recently.

The 5-10, 200-pound runner has been demanding interest from a long list of programs so far in his process. Some of the most impressive offers Brown holds currently include the Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Penn State, Florida State, Louisville, UNC, Indiana, Maryland, Boston College, Baylor, Stanford, Duke, and UCF among others.

As a sophomore in 2024, Brown was dynamic for Rolesville. In 14 games, he rushed for 612 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 6.6 yards per carry. Brown also hauled in 15 receptions for 269 yards and two more scores.
