Injured junior wide receiver Jalen McMillan remains questionable for Saturday's game against 13th-ranked Utah while senior free safety Asa Turner has been ruled out, University of Washington football coach Kalen DeBoer said at his Monday press briefing.

Also, sophomore offensive guard Geirean Hatchett missed the Huskies' 52-42 victory over USC in Los Angeles with an ankle injury and his playing status is uncertain.

McMillan continues to struggle with a knee issue suffered against Michigan State that has has made him miss four games and play only a couple of series in two others in aborted comeback attempts.

Rather than shut down the junior from Fresno, who led the Huskies with 79 catches last year, his coaches hold out hope he'll return at some point with three games left to play in the regular season.

McMillan was expected to get a second medical opinion from Seahawks physicians this week, offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb said.

"He's just been really close," DeBoer said. "We wouldn't have brought him back if we didn't feel he was there. There is a long-game picture for him. Again, he's not that far away. I would hope he'd be back here this season."

Turner has missed five games with some sort of hand or arm injury. He returned to play against Oregon and Arizona State, but was re-injured and has missed the past two outings.

The 6-foot-4, 303-pound Hatchett, who started four games and played in the first eight, didn't travel to USC after getting hurt in practice last week.

After missing a pair of Husky games, senior defensive tackle Tuli Letuligasenoa, a five-game starter, returned against the Trojans in a reserve role, held up well and played 14-15 snaps, according to co-defensive coordinator Chuck Morrell. The plan is to double Letuligasenoa's playing time against Utah.

Senior wide receiver Giles Jackson caught 3 passes for 19 yards against USC, making his third appearance of the season as he faces a pressing eligibility decision coming soon.

Jackson missed the Huskies' first five games after breaking a thumb in practice, played in two games and then missed another because of injury.

His dilemma is this: He can continue playing uninterrupted with his UW teammates in pursuit of Pac-12 championship and College Football Playoff berths and use up his eligibility.

However, Jackson can play one more game, giving him four appearances, and shut down until postseason play, which doesn't count against him, and thus preserve another season of eligibility next year.

With McMillan injured, Jackson's full availability comes into play, too.

"If there was a way, and it worked out in keeping that extra year, it would be something he'd be in favor of," DeBoer said. "He also realizes that these times may never come again. You can't take it for granted you'll be in a championship run and have the type of team we have."
