The Miami Hurricanes have taken great strides over the last several months to distance themselves from one of the most regrettable defensive performances in program history in 2024. Mario Cristobal took another big one on Saturday afternoon.
Cristobal landed the commitment of four-star Jacksonville (Mandarin) CB Brody Jennings, who flipped his pledge from Michigan to Miami.

Jennings is a four-star recruit in On3 Sports' industry ratings. He comes in as the #294 overall player, #29 CB, and #41 player in the state of Florida for the 2026 cycle. He holds offers from Georgia, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Auburn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Missouri, Colorado, and many others.
Jennings has good size at the position at 6'1", 185 pounds and is a physical corner with good ball skills. He is also a legacy player for the Canes, as his brother, Bradley Jennings, Jr., previously played at Miami.
He becomes another short and long-term option for Cristobal and his staff as they look to put forth a far-different product, particularly in pass defense, than they did in 2024. A leaky pass defense derailed Miami's chances at a first-ever College Football Playoff berth on the strength of a generational offense led by Heisman Trophy finalist and #1 draft pick Cam Ward.
Jennings is the fourth four-star CB commit in this cycle for Cristobal, joining Jaelen Waters of Seffner, FL, Jontavius Wyman of Jonesboro, GA, and Camdin Portis of Charlotte, NC.
