Miami Hurricanes Land Running Back From In-State Rival Through The Transfer Portal
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Hurricanes have been fighting to be back on top of the college football world for the past two decades. Every season starts with promise before ending in disappointment. However, they have landed some good pieces in the transfer portal this offseason. The program got another great piece in former Florida State running back Rodney Hill.

Miami Hurricanes Land RB Rodney Hill

Hill was originally committed to Florida A&M, but then running back coach Willie Simmons left to coach at Duke. He reopened his recruitment and ultimately landed with the Hurricanes. Hill never found consistent playing time with the Seminoles, only tallying 334 total rushing yards and two touchdowns in two seasons. It is a deep running back rotation for the Hurricanes, but Miami’s talented offensive line makes the program an attractive place for skill position players. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

2024 Outlook

The 2024 season kicks off at The Swamp against the Florida Gators. From there, the Hurricanes have to play a lot of the elite teams in the ACC. They have to travel to Syracuse and Louisville but will host Florida State. All of those games will determine where the Hurricanes land in the ACC. At some point, head coach Mario Cristobal has to show he can win against the top teams in the conference.

The Miami Hurricanes have a lot of expectations going into 2024. Can they finally get back on top of the conference and into the college football playoff?
