Miami Hurricanes QB Carson Beck gets a lot more respect from EA Sports than he has from many college football pundits ahead of 2025 season

The Miami Hurricanes landed one of the biggest names in the transfer portal with the addition of former Georgia QB Carson Beck.

That being said, some haven't been as rosy on his prospects as a standout for the Hurricanes this fall, as experts have left the ex-Bulldog signal caller off their top 10 list of QBs entering 2025.

That did not include EA Sports, who gave Beck a lofty ranking in the latest chapter of their game coming out later this month.

EA Sports ranked Beck 7th with a 91 overall rating, which tied with Arizona State's Sam Leavitt, South Carolina's Lanorris Sellers, and Oklahoma's John Mateer.

Some notable names behind Beck include Texas' Arch Manning, Florida's DJ Lagway, and Illinois' Luke Altmyer.

Beck hasn't been able to throw with his receivers this spring as he recovers from an elbow injury that cost him the end of his 2024 season with the Bulldogs. However, Mario Cristobal previously stated that Beck is "good to go" for summer workouts and is exceeding every benchmark to be ready for the start of the season, which for Miami is on August 31 against Notre Dame at Hard Rock Stadium.

Beck signed with Georgia out of high school and waited his turn behind Stetson Bennett IV before taking over as the starter for the 2023 season.  He led the SEC in attempts, completions, and passing yards on the way to a 13-1 season for Georgia. As such, it's not like he's forgotten how to play good football.

He'll be protected by arguably the best offensive line in the ACC led by future first-round pick Francis Mauigoa. The biggest question will be whether his pass catchers can do their part, which was something that plagued Georgia's offense in 2025.

We'll find out soon enough if EA Sports' high rating is warranted this year, as fall camp is just a month away from getting started in Coral Gables.
