The Michigan Wolverines landed their five-star quarterback of the future with the commitment of 2025 No. 1 overall recruit Bryce Underwood last year. But on Saturday, the program added yet another highly-touted QB recruit.

Four-star signal caller Brady Smigiel has committed to join Sherrone Moore's program as a member of the 2026 class. The No. 8 ranked QB in the 2026 class chose the Wolverines over Washington, South Carolina and UCLA.

Smigiel, a California native, initially committed to Florida State in June 2024. But after the Seminoles' 2-10 season and multiple coaching changes, the 6-foot-4, 210 lbs QB elected to re-evaluate his decision.

"I just didn't feel like Florida State was that spot for me anymore," Smigiel said earlier this year. "I committed to coach (Mike) Norvell calling the plays and now that he's not, it's a completely different situation."

"All Glory to God - Go Blue!" Smigiel said after his commitment decision.

In his junior season at Newbury Park High School, Smigiel threw for 3,521 yards, 49 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He also recorded 11 rushing touchdowns.

"We just thought it was time to make the decision and when I went out to Michigan I knew it was the spot for me," Smigiel told ESPN after his decision. "Being able to see the strength staff and how they handle the players -- the discipline within the program -- it was all really impressive."

Michigan will begin its 2025 college football season with a matchup against the New Mexico Lobos on Aug. 30.
