This year’s Rose Bowl has some of the highest stakes of Jim Harbaugh’s career. A win would break a six-game bowl game loss streak and send the Wolverines to the national title game. A loss would repeat the same sad story as the past three years and leave fans with a sour taste in their mouths. But this year’s game is also interesting as a chance for each team to show off to potential recruits and transfers which team is truly better. Right now, both Michigan football and Alabama are leaders for top transfer portal cornerback Domani Jackson, adding even more stakes to this year’s Rose Bowl.
Out of high school, Jackson was a five-star recruit who was the No. 2 cornerback in his class. Jackson played his first two years at USC but recently hit the transfer portal. According to On3, it appears that Michigan and Alabama are the current frontrunners for Jackson’s recruitment.

Last season, Jackson amassed 32 total tackles for the Trojans. As a transfer, Jackson has a four-star rating from 247 Sports and is listed as the 25th overall player currently in the portal.
If the Wolverines can pull off an impressive victory over a tough Alabama team, this could certainly swing things in favor of Michigan. Michigan will face Alabama this New Year’s Day at 5:00 PM EST.
