Sherrone Moore and the Michigan Wolverines are trailing in the race for California four-star linebacker Kenneth Goodwin III, but it's not over yet. The talented hybrid defender set a date of July 1 to make his announcement, so the clock is ticking.

Michigan will get the chance to change Goodwin's mind about going to either Georgia or Oregon, though. While the Bulldogs supposedly have the edge over the Ducks, Michigan still feels alive.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder announced his top five list of schools, and Michigan is right in the mix with Georgia, Oregon, SMU, and Texas A&M.

This latest update did cut Arizona State, Texas, Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio State and Notre Dame out of his consideration, and this quote should make Moore feel better.

”Love Michigan, they are also in the running for my recruitment,” Goodwin said.

The touted second-level defender added more on his interest in the Wolverines. ”My relationship with the coaching staff,” Goodwin said. “My parents love the university!”

Michigan will get Goodwin in for an official visit the weekend of June 13.

”The development of their linebackers, Coach Wink has always done a great job with my position.”
