Michigan has massive day on the recruiting trail

Any day you can land one of the better recruits in the country is a good day.

That's the nature of recruiting. Big wins are big wins, and the fan base eats it up.

Michigan has a bigger fan base than most and even in the wake of winning the national championship, the Wolverines are hungry for more.

New head coach Sherrone Moore will have to prove himself in the post-Jim Harbaugh era, and one of the best places to start that is on the recruiting trail.

As such, it was a big day for Michigan on Monday.

Andrew Olesh, a four-star tight end from Center Valley, Pennsylvania, announced his commitment to Michigan over the likes of Alabama, Florida and Penn State.

Earlier in the day, Michigan landed the commitment of four-star safety Ivan Taylor from Winter Garden, Florida. To make that commitment even more impressive for the Wolverines, Taylor had flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to U-of-M.

Those are two big wins no matter how you shake them out, but the numbers agree as well. Olesh is ranked as the No. 4 tight end in the nation, according to 247Sports. Taylor is ranked as the No. 2 safety.

Michigan's 2025 class is now ranked No. 11 nationally with 15 commitments already aboard. If nothing changes, Taylor would be the class's top-ranked player.
