Michigan State Spartans Brutal Loss Of Former Top 50 Recruit To Transfer Portal

The Michigan State Spartans will have to without the services of one to most highly recruited defensive lineman coming out of high school. The once transfer from the Texas A&M Aggies will look to greener pastures again as the MIchigan State Spartans will have to face the revised Big Ten next year without him.

Mchigan State Spartans Transfer Loss

Tunmise Adeleye will be with the Michigan State Spartans no more. According to Keegan Pope from On3, Adeleye has entered his name into the transfer portal as of early Tuesday morning. The Texas native will have spent one year in College Station, and one year in East Lansing, but appears to be on the way out again.

Having been rated as a five star recruit coming out of high school, he was a top recruit for his position as someone that could be utilized to beef up any pass rush. Known for his handwork and quick ability to shed off blockers, his abilities and capabilities are well documented.

Despite receiving a lot of offers and attention from someone the top schools, Adeleye chose the Michigan State Spartans over a list of suitots. Why? Becasue of the coaching staff.

Michigan State Spartans Second Landing Spot

According to Adeleye in an interview with Spiro Avenue, his main motivation for joining the Michigan State Spartans was because of defensive specialist Coach Brandon “BT” Jordan.

I knew kind of beforehand that I would have a multitude of schools I could pick from. And when I finally hit the portal officially BT was the first person to hit me up…He’s been with me since freshman year of high school.

Since Coach Jordan has since taken a defensive coaching role with the Seattle Seahawks it’s not hard to see why Adeleye would want to now retest the markets, seeing as his main motivating factor from joining the Michigan State Spartans is no longer there anymore.

Michigan State Spartans Not So Smooth Ending

While the move appears to have been in the making for some time, the possibilty of Adeleye not coming back for another year now looks all but certain.

Having not been a member of the Michigan State Spartans roster since right before the game against Minnesota. This matchup occured in late October, so why the early decision to no longer be on the team? And why wait until now to announce his intention to transfer?

At this point that is unknown, but it is known that Coach Jordan was not the only coach who departed from the program. Likely with the differing faces who had not brought him in, Adeleye wanted to find a situation and environment that he felt more comfirtable in.

After the firing of Coach Mel Tucker, he had an open period to enter the transfer portal without any eligibility concerns. Yet he decided to stay pact at the time. Likely needing to evaluate his options and decide what he wants for his future, his intentions now appear to becoming more clear.

While injuries, and the pandemic have limited his onfield opportunites, once he gets into football shape he could pose a threat to opposing quarterbacks in the backfield. Adeleye will be looking to get back in track and show why he was one of the most sought after defensive players in college football.
