Michigan wins battle for four-star RB Jordan Marshall

Jim Harbaugh has picked up another stud recruit, and Michigan is undoubtedly hoping that four-star running back Jordan Marshall can follow in the footsteps of the many star Wolverines rushers before him.

Marshall's commitment to the Wolverines is a big one, to say the least. As the No. 7 2024 running back in the nation, the junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, is certainly a blue chip prospect. There's also the fact that he's coming from Cincinnati, right in Ohio State's backyard. The Buckeyes were in the running for Marshall's commitment, as was Tennessee and Wisconsin.

Ultimately, Harbaugh and the Wolverines prevailed, though. Credit to former Michigan running back turned running backs coach Mike Hart as well. He was Marshall's primary recruiter and the 4-star spoke has spoke highly about him throughout his recruitment.

“Really just me and Coach Hart get along and that's my guy,” Marshall once said, per 247Sports. “We're like the same person."

"I really liked Coach Hart," Marshall had said after his first visit to the Wolverines. "We got along very well and he’s very straight forward, which I loved. The rest of the staff was the same way. Everyone at Michigan was very straight forward and honest with me. Coach Harbaugh was funny. I really liked talking and getting to know him as well."

Marshall was the state of Ohio's Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior after he rushed for 1,951 yards and 30 touchdowns while catching 19 passes for 365 yards and four scores through the air.

He's Michigan's third commitment from the state of Ohio this recruiting cycle.
