Michigan's Top WR Enters Transfer Portal Amid Coaching Change
USA TODAY Sports

Michigan's offense is bound to get a makeover before the 2025 season. The Wolverine's offense could use change, as the offense ranked 100th in average points per game (22.3) this season.

On Tuesday, the Wolverines announced they were relieving offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Kirk Campbell from his duties. Campbell was in his second season as Michigan's quarterbacks coach and first as the offensive coordinator.

Head coach Sherrone Moore will try to find an elite offensive coordinator to pair with the No. 1 recruit in the country, quarterback Bryce Underwood, before the 2025 season. Underwood might not have Michigan's top wide receiver from the 2024 season to throw to.

Per a statement on his X account, Tyler Morris announced he was entering the transfer portal.

"After much consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 1 year of eligibility remaining," Morris wrote. "This was not an easy decision, but I am excited for what the future holds."

Morris' announcement on X came 20 minutes before the Wolverines released a statement that Campbell would not return as the offensive coordinator.

Morris was Michigan's second-leading receiver in 2024 with 248 yards and two touchdowns on 23 catches. The junior from Bolingbrook, Illinois was the Wolverines' top wide receiver, as tight end Colston Loveland led the team with 582 yards.

Morris recorded 39 receptions for 470 yards and three touchdowns during his three seasons with Michigan.
