Mike Elko snags first big recruiting win for Texas A&M by flipping four-star DL

Everything is bigger in Texas, as new Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko will soon find out.

Speaking of bigger, the expectations are high in College Station. Just ask Jimbo Fisher, who the Aggies just jettisoned with a 45-25 record.

As such, big wins on the recruiting trail are a must for Elko early and often, and he just secured his first big one in the person of Kendall Jackson, a four-star defensive lineman from Gainesville, Florida.

Jackson just flipped his commitment from Miami to Texas A&M. Notably, it's not the first flip of his recruitment.

He had originally committed to Florida but backed off that commitment with Florida defensive line coach Sean Spencer was relieved of his duties. Spencer is now Texas A&M defensive line coach, which goes a long way in explaining this flip.

Now it's all about the Aggies for Jackson, and considering he made the decision on the eve of national signing day, this feels like one that's going to stick.

According to the rankings, this is big for Elko and the Aggies. At 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, Jackson is a top-50 recruit at his position.
