Mississippi State football made a significant recruiting splash on Father’s Day by landing 3-star offensive tackle Charles Humphrey from Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. The 6-foot-7, 291-pound lineman announced his commitment to the Bulldogs via social media, choosing MSU over 13 other offers, including those from Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, and Oregon.
Humphrey is ranked No. 29 overall in Tennessee, the No. 80 offensive tackle nationally, and the No. 975 prospect in the Class of 2026, according to the 247Sports Composite. Despite interest from several Power Four programs, Humphrey felt Mississippi State offered the best environment for his development, particularly because of the coaching staff’s expertise at his position.
“It really was the experience the coaching staff have at my position,” Humphrey told On3’s Paul Jones. “Coach Jeff Lebby was an offensive lineman and Coach Phil Loadholt played in the NFL for eight years as an offensive lineman. I believe they can help me produce and get me to where I need to be.”
With this commitment, Mississippi State strengthens its 2026 recruiting class and sends a strong message by securing a top target from SEC rival territory.
