Missouri HC Eli Drinkwitz looks foolish after getting chippy with reporter who asked fair question about loss to Alabama

Missouri Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz got chippy with a reporter on Saturday after his team's 34-0 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Drinkwitz was asked a fair question by a reporter -- if there were any similarities between the Tigers' loss to Texas A&M earlier this season and the loss to Alabama on Saturday -- which led to the fifth-year Tigers head coach getting some attitude.

"No, I didn't see any similarities," said Drinkwitz. "I saw three turnovers. I saw a bunch of guys beat to crap that went out there and fought their butt off. There wasn't anything similar to Texas A&M at all. It was 13-0 at halftime (against Alabama) because of an interception. We fought our butt off. And any other conversation outside of that is ridiculous."

Sounds like the pressure might be getting to Drinkwitz. That was a fair question and he tried to get some attitude for no reason, which is why his response came off looking a bit clownish.

Missouri lost to Alabama because Alabama played better. All of the excuses that Drinkwitz is throwing out there -- interceptions and injuries -- are things that every program is dealing with right now.

I mean, just a week ago, Tennessee beat Alabama after turning the ball over three times while also dealing with a beat up roster (wide receivers Bru McCoy and Squirrel White probably shouldn't have even played, and quarterback Nico Iamaleava spent time in the injury tent...the Vols also lost their starting middle linebacker for the season, their offensive tackles are banged up, too). No team is completely healthy in late October. Every program is dealing with some sort of adversity. And the teams/coaches that can handle the adversity are the ones that will be relevant in December and January.

It seems pretty easy for Drinkwitz to throw shade and talk trash when his team wins, but when he's on the other side of the scoreboard, he has a hard time staying composed and being reasonable. A reporter asked a fair question about Missouri's only other loss this season. Instead of responding like a normal mature adult would, Drinkwitz tried to dunk on the reporter.

Unfortunately for Drinkwitz, his dunk attempt was rejected at the rim.
