More details were released on the arrest of Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. on Monday.

The Alabama safety was arrested on three counts of reckless endangerment, one count of attempting to elude and reckless driving and failure/refusal to comply with first-responders’ orders, per Tuscaloosa County Jail records. He has since been suspended from the Alabama football team.

“With this information that I have at this time, talked to Dre, and we need to indefinitely suspend him, and he understands there’s consequences that come with his actions,” Kalen DeBoer said on Monday.

The event happened around 3 a.m., according to newly released court documents.

UAPD officers attempted to stop a Mercedes sedan Saturday driven by Kirkpatrick. The sedan had been seen driving recklessly at a high speed. The officers, who were on foot, attempted to get Kirkpatrick to pull over to the ride-share lane in front of the police precinct on the Stript. The Alabama safety then moved towards the ride share lane but then moved back into the driving lane.

A few of the officers were in front of Kirkpatrick’s Mercedes.

“He continued to approach officers, who placed their hands on the hood hoping the driver would stop,” UAPD officer Christopher Fuerch wrote in the report, per AL.com. “The driver continued forward and officers moved out of the path of the vehicle as it sped off.”

Kirkpatrick was booked in the Tuscaloosa County jail midday Saturday.
