More of the Top Transfer Portal QBs, and Where They Could Land
USA TODAY Sports

The transfer portal has changed the game of college football. Players can follow their coaches to new schools or leave for more playing time and a better chance to make the NFL. Many players enter their names in the "portal" late in the season to ensure they are at the top of boards for many colleges. Today we will look at five QBs who have yet to find a home and where they can end up next season.

1. Connor Bazelak QB Indiana/Missouri

The former four-star QB is once again in the portal. Connor Bazelak is a star who threw for over three thousand yards while at both Indiana and Missouri. Bazelak is from Ohio, and while Ohio St is a long shot, with CJ Stroud leaving for the NFL, it is not impossible. I can not predict Bazelak's next destination, but Missouri and schools in Ohio are the ones to watch.

2. Brady Allen QB Purdue

Brady Allen has entered the portal. The four-star QB in the 2022 class saw limited playing time behind incumbent starter Aidan O'Connell , and with the departure of coach Jeff Brohm , he has decided to leave the Boilermakers. Brady ranked as the 151st player and 10th best QB according to 247 Sports and held eight offers out of high school. There are two schools I see Brady at Louisville and Indiana. Indiana recently lost three QBs to the portal meaning Brady would be able to compete right away for coach Tom Allen and stay in his home state of Indiana. Louisville is the other school that makes sense for Allen. Former coach Jeff Brohm is now the head man for the Cardinals, and bringing in his former touted signal-caller would be icing on the cake for the Cardinals and their fans.

3. Sawyer Robertson QB Mississippi State

Sawyer Robertson has entered the portal. The backup to Will Rogers rarely saw the field but had high expectations after being a four-star QB in the 2021 class. Robertson hails from Lubbock, Texas, and I believe a homecoming is in order for the former top 200 players. Texas Tech is the perfect location for Sawyer, despite the Red Raiders having QB Behren Morton on the roster for the 2023 season. TCU is another team to watch for the touted QB.

4. Peter Costelli QB Troy/Stanford

Peter Costelli is next. The former four-star is in the portal again after one season at Troy. Costelli needs a change of scenery and should consider heading back home. Stanford is a school I look at here. Adding a veteran QB would be huge with the new coaching staff, and Costelli could potentially revive his college career.

5. Ty Keyes QB Southern Miss

Last up is former three-star QB Ty Keyes. The Southern Miss QB rarely saw playing time in his second season and has stepped away from the program. As a high school QB, Keyes won three state championships and showed off his decision-making skills despite not having the best arm. Keyes could jump to the next level, and a program like Mississippi State is perfect for him. With two backups leaving the Bulldogs and freshman Chris Parson joining the team, Ty has a solid opportunity to compete for a starting spot and stay in his home state.
